3-week Lifeguard Training and Certification Class beginning January 26th will take place on Saturdays 9 am to 6:30 pm at International HS at Prospect Heights

Successful completion of this course certifies participant in Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED for 2 years.
Prerequisites:
- 15 years of age in order to register. You must provide a proof of date of birth on the first day of class.
- Swim 300 yards continuously demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing. Candidates may swim using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both but swimming on the back or side is not allowed. Swim goggles may be used.
- Tread water only using legs for 2 minutes. Candidates should place their hands under the armpits.
- Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds. ■ Starting in the water, swim 20 yards. The face may be in or out of the water. Swim goggles are not allowed. ■ Surface dive to a depth of 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object. Return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point with both hands holding the object and keeping the face at or near the surface so they are able to get a breath. Candidates should not swim the distance under water. ■ Exit the water without using a ladder or steps.
First Aid instruction and CPR/AED for the Lifeguard are included in the course.

Important Information
- Full payment due at the time of registration.
- NO REFUNDS for cancellations with 1 week of course start date.
- Minimum 6 participants and maximum of 18 per course.
- Please choose a class that the participant can attend all scheduled times during the session.
- Attendance at ALL classes in the session is MANDATORY.
- Splitting sessions is not acceptable. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS.
